Netflix has defended its latest show Insatiable , after over 200,000 people have signed a petition urging the streaming platform to cancel the series before it airs August 12. The petition, which was launched after the show’s trailer released last week, accuses Insatiable of body-shaming. The series follows the story of high school student Patty who is bullied for her size before she rapidly loses weight and becomes accepted by her peers. Patty then uses this new-found popularity to take revenge on those who bullied her.
