The @adidasoriginals Rouge retro arrives shortly
— not sneaker —culture in the UK keeps bubbling while all eyes are on more garish prizes. adidas Originals have timed a low key rollout of old favourites well, because these arrive just after Gary Aspden and friends' SPEZIAL hand delivered a love letter to the company's Germanic essence. You can probably reel off the city series like some seasoned traveller, but the Rouge is something different yet very, very similar (because the differences between some of the training models of the time are imperceptible beyond those in the know). The Rouge debuted around 1976 and was sold alongside cult classics like the Stockholm/Baltic Cup, Montreal 76 and London.
